A few days ago, another cast member for Dexter: Original Sin was announced for a new role in the Miami Metro. Patrick Dempsey, a major star, has joined the prequel series as a regular, playing the department's Captain, Aaron Spencer.

Patrick Galen Dempsey, born on January 13, 1966, is an American actor and racecar driver. He is best known for his role as neurosurgeon Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd on the ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" from 2005 to 2015, and again in 2021.

In 2014, Dempsey decided to leave Grey's Anatomy after a decade due to the demanding work schedule, which limited his time with his family. His character's death was partly attributed to claims of disruptions on set and his feeling of being done with the series.
