Dexter: Original Sin Score Composer Announced - Pat Irwin to Create the Prequel's Soundtrack

Dexter: New Blood composer returns for Dexter: Original Sin!

Dexter: Original Sin is currently filming its third episode in Los Angeles, and exciting news about the prequel's soundtrack has already surfaced! Pat Irwin, the composer behind the score for 2021's Dexter: New Blood, is set to return to the franchise, crafting the music for the highly anticipated show debuting this December.

Irwin himself shared the news hours ago via his X account: "I’m proud to announce that I’m composing the score for Dexter: Original Sin. Hold on tight!"

For Dexter: New Blood, the 69-year-old musician composed 30 scores that perfectly captured the vibe of the 10-episode series. These can be found on YouTube, Spotify, and other platforms.

The original series score for the main Dexter series, which ran from 2006 to 2013, was composed by Daniel Licht, who sadly passed away on August 2, 2017, from sarcoma (exactly seven years ago today). Licht's soundtracks were unique, incorporating items like bones to create distinctive music.

Hopefully, Showtime, Clyde Phillips, and the team involved with Dexter: Original Sin will honor Licht's legacy by incorporating his original score into the upcoming prequel. There’s no better way to captivate the audience and evoke a sense of nostalgia.
