A day after the Dexter: Original Sin panel at Comic-Con 2024, Michael C. Hall, Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, and Molly Brown sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the upcoming series Dexter: Original Sin, the main Dexter series, and Dexter: Resurrection, the highly anticipated sequel to Dexter: New Blood, set to premiere in the summer of 2025.

Michael C. Hall interview

Hall shared insights with Entertainment Weekly about the prequel "Dexter: Original Sin." He provided a glimpse into what viewers can expect in the first ten episodes, focusing on the complex relationship between Dexter, Deb, and Harry, who all live under the same roof, and how they cope with the death of Doris Morgan (Deb's biological mother).

Hall also touched on the enduring appeal of the Dexter franchise, nearly 18 years after its debut. "When we started (in 2005), we hoped the pilot would get picked up and find a little niche audience. To be here this many years later, with this proliferation of shows, it's pretty wild."

Regarding "Dexter: Resurrection," the sequel to "Dexter: New Blood," Hall acknowledged the fans' enthusiasm and their desire for more of Dexter Morgan. "A lot of it is in response to the enthusiasm of our fanbase, the desire for more, the desire to find out more, to spend more time with him [Dexter]. It's beyond anything any of us conceived of when we started. That it's still here and growing is very gratifying."
