New Set Photos Unveil Key Details About a Major Case in Dexter: Original Sin

Could this case be linked to the season's Big Bad?

Dexter: Original Sin, the highly anticipated prequel set in 1991 Miami, is currently nearing the halfway point of its production in Los Angeles. Today, we've got some new spoiler-filled images from the set, taken on July 26. These photos capture a press conference scene led by Miami Metro Captain Aaron Spencer, portrayed by Patrick Dempsey.

Earlier in August, we at Dexter Daily shared an initial look at Patrick Dempsey on set, courtesy of Just Jared, where he sported a distinctive mustache for his role in the Dexter prequel. Now, we're bringing you additional images from the same day, revealing more about the context of that press conference—and it might be linked to the season's main villain.

Keep scrolling to view the images, but beware of potential spoilers!

The new photos from July 26 show that the press conference, led by Captain Aaron Spencer, takes place outside the Dade County Courthouse.

As seen in the images below, the case at hand involves a missing child, with the distraught parents standing next to their child's photo. The presence of numerous handheld news microphones suggests this is a high-profile case.

The following image highlights the deep anguish of the parents.

So, how do this child and his parents tie into the season's storyline?

To dig deeper, we revisited some leaks shared by That Hashtag Show back in early spring, long before Dexter: Original Sin was officially announced. In an article, parts of which we shared here on Dexter Daily in early April, it was revealed that Captain Aaron Spencer is tasked with assembling a top-notch team to investigate the abduction of a prominent judge’s son.

Based on this information, it appears that the missing child in the images is indeed the judge's son. The man next to the photo is the judge himself, and the woman in blue is his wife. The actual character names and the actors' identities are not yet available.

While we can't confirm whether this case is directly connected to the season's "Big Bad," the evidence strongly suggests a link.
