Dexter Reenters Nielsen's Top 10 Most-Streamed Shows with 748 Million Weekly Viewing Minutes

The original Dexter series is making a strong comeback on Nielsen's streaming charts.

After a three-week absence from the list of most-streamed TV shows, Dexter has made its way back into the top 10. According to Nielsen's streaming rankings for the week of August 12 to August 18, Dexter re-entered the charts with an impressive 748 million minutes viewed during that week alone (the latest data available). Meanwhile, Prison Break held onto the number one spot for the second consecutive week, amassing 1.6 billion minutes viewed.

For those unfamiliar, the Nielsen Streaming TV Top 10 is a weekly ranking that tracks the most-watched streaming shows in the U.S. based on total minutes viewed. Nielsen collects data from major streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video, offering insights into audience preferences and viewing habits. This list provides a snapshot of the current trending content across platforms, including TV series, movies, and other entertainment.

All 96 episodes of the original Dexter series have been available on Netflix and Paramount+ since Spring 2024, while Dexter: New Blood remains exclusive to Paramount+.
