Masuka Crashes the Writers' Room: Watch Alex Shimizu Dancing With the Dexter Writers

Another exciting week on the set of Dexter: Original Sin has come to an end.

The Dexter prequel, set to debut on Paramount+ with Showtime this December, is currently filming in Los Angeles. The past few days have been challenging for the cast and crew of Dexter: Original Sin as the City of Angels endures a heat wave. On the bright side, the exterior scenes may capture a bit more of that Miami vibe—thanks to the extra sweat!

Despite the heat, Alex Shimizu, who plays young Masuka, wasn't deterred from having fun. On Friday, he shared a cool reel on his Instagram, showing him throwing a mini dance party with members of the Dexter: Original Sin writers' room, including Scott Reynolds, Marc Muszynski, Nick Zayas, and Alex Franklin.

The group was seen dancing to the 1990s hit "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" by C+C Music Factory, with Alex leading the fun.

In other news from the set, Christina Milian, who plays the younger version of Maria LaGuerta in the Dexter prequel, has returned to Los Angeles after a four-day trip to her hometown, Paris. In an Instagram story shared on Friday, she revealed that the brief visit was to see one of her sons attend school for the first time. That's what being an awesome mother is all about! She also thanked Paramount+ for allowing her the chance to make the trip despite her busy schedule.

We're currently halfway through the production of Dexter: Original Sin. More updates are on the way soon, so stay tuned!
