The actor recently appeared on NBC's 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'.
It's been 10 days since Dexter: Original Sin wrapped up its first season, but the excitement surrounding the show remains strong. With its gripping storytelling, stellar cast, and unexpected twists, the 10-episode debut left fans eager for more. However, Showtime has yet to announce a renewal for Season 2.
One standout performance came from Christian Slater, who took on the role of Dexter and Deb’s father, Harry Morgan. While Slater is widely recognized for his impressive acting skills, some fans found his portrayal of Harry quite different from James Remar’s version in the original Dexter series.
Christian Slater on Dexter: Original Sin and Fatherhood
In a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Slater—who became a father to a son in June 2024—opened up about his life and experience working on Dexter: Original Sin.
When asked about joining the series, he shared his enthusiasm:
"I couldn't resist. When I watched the original show, I thought, ‘That's the type of show you’d want to be a part of.’ So, getting the chance to play Dexter’s dad was just fantastic."
He also reflected on Harry Morgan’s parenting style, jokingly acknowledging its flaws:
"Obviously, the parenting could use a little help. He’s a little wild and crazy, but he does love his son unconditionally. And when you think about it, if it weren’t for Dexter, there’d be so many more serial killers out there. He’s a vigilante who only kills serial killers—only bad people. So really, I’ve done a great job. It’s a public service."
When asked how he relates to Harry Morgan in real life, Slater playfully responded:
"When I’m at home, I do the opposite of what Harry would do. That’s my foundation. I’m not interested in raising my kids that way. ‘Burn the evidence, kids!’"
