Clyde Phillips & Scott Reynolds Reveal Last-Minute Rewrites on Dexter: Resurrection Set in NYC

Filming for the highly anticipated sequel series is underway in Yonkers today.

Dexter: Resurrection has officially entered its fifth week of production, marking the first time a Dexter series has been primarily filmed in New York City.

Over the past three days, filming took place in the Bronx, where fans spotted several key cast members. Uma Thurman was seen on set, mostly on Monday, along with Dexter himself, Michael C. Hall. However, there was no sign of James Remar or Jack Alcott, and we have yet to see Peter Dinklage (Leon Prater) or David Zayas (Angel Batista) on set.

Writers & Producers Oversee Filming on Location

In addition to the cast, key members of the production team have been present on set to oversee the action firsthand. Among them is Dexter: Resurrection showrunner Clyde Phillips, as well as executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds. Fans of the franchise will recognize Reynolds for his long-standing tradition of sharing spoiler-free behind-the-scenes moments on social media, a practice he has continued since the early 2010s.

As expected, Dexter: Resurrection is no exception. Reynolds recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a mirror selfie featuring Clyde Phillips in what appears to be an Airbnb room, teasing ongoing rewrites for the highly anticipated sequel to Dexter: New Blood.

The photo shows Reynolds working on his laptop while Phillips, sitting beside him with a script on his lap, playfully holds up two fingers behind Reynolds’ head. While some fans may have hoped to zoom in for a sneak peek at the script’s contents, we can confirmed that the text remains unreadable.

What This Means for Dexter: Resurrection

Script rewrites are a common practice in Hollywood, whether they’re last-minute adjustments or planned refinements. In this case, it demonstrates the dedication of the Dexter: Resurrection writing team to delivering the best possible story for fans eagerly awaiting the sequel series, set to premiere this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.

Dexter: Original Sin Finale Arrives in Just Hours

Meanwhile, we’re just hours away from the Dexter: Original Sin Season 1 finale. As many fans know, the episode is written by Clyde Phillips and has been heavily teased by the cast and crew over the past few months. Stay tuned to see how it all unfolds!
