Dexter: Final Cut – C.S. Lee & Jamie Chung Discuss the Season 1 Finale of Dexter: Original Sin

The actor made another guest appearance on Final Cut after a last-minute schedule change.

Dexter: Final Cut returns with its tenth episode, delving into Episode 10, "Code Blues" of Dexter: Original Sin Season 1. This official weekly aftershow, hosted by Dexter: New Blood guest star Jamie Chung, offers in-depth analysis, exclusive insights, and interviews with special guests from the Dexter universe.

Special Guest: C.S. Lee Returns

This week, C.S. Lee—the original actor behind fan-favorite forensic analyst Vince Masuka from all eight seasons of Dexter (2006–2013)—joins the show once again. Interestingly, this episode, like the previous one, was filmed in January during the peak of the devastating LA fires. As Jamie Chung mentioned at the beginning of the interview, another guest was initially scheduled to appear in Episode 10 to discuss the finale. However, due to the fires, they were unable to attend. Chung did not disclose who the guest was.

C.S. Lee on His Dexter Experience

Reflecting on his time on the show, C.S. Lee shared valuable lessons he learned from working on Dexter:

"There are so many things. I mean, eight seasons—I spent a lot of time with those people, including the crew. That’s the great thing about working on a show like this—everyone has their own role, and it truly takes a team effort."

Always quick with humor, Lee joked that the biggest mystery in the Dexter-verse might be how Masuka loses his hair.

Exploring the Finale: Brian Moser’s Origin Story

The conversation then turned to the Dexter: Original Sin finale, which offers a deeper look into Brian Moser’s backstory. Lee noted:

"We hear his narrative voice, which is significant because, until now, the only voice we had ever heard was Dexter’s."

Jamie Chung added that the show aims to help audiences empathize with Brian’s perspective:

"The contrast between Dexter and Brian becomes clear when they come to a fork in the road. If you’re raised in a loving family with a code, you have a way to control your Dark Passenger. But if you grow up without guidance, you risk becoming completely unhinged."

Would Dexter Have Turned Out Like Brian?

When asked if Dexter would have ended up like Brian without Harry’s Code, C.S. Lee answered:

"Most likely."

What’s Next for Dexter: Final Cut?

At the conclusion of Episode 10, Jamie Chung confirmed that the aftershow will return this summer to serve as a companion series for the highly anticipated Dexter: Resurrection.
