Is Masuka Returning in Dexter: Resurrection? C.S. Lee Hints at His Possible Comeback

Will Vince Masuka make a comeback in the upcoming Dexter sequel?

The first season of Dexter: Original Sin has concluded, and as time passes, fans are shifting their attention to the next highly anticipated Dexter series, Dexter: Resurrection. Set to debut in 2025, this new chapter sees the return of Michael C. Hall as the iconic Dexter Morgan.

For those unfamiliar, Dexter: Resurrection picks up where Dexter: New Blood left off, placing Dexter Morgan in an entirely new setting—New York City. Filming is primarily taking place in the Big Apple and its outskirts, providing an exciting urban backdrop for the series. Among the most significant casting additions so far are Uma Thurman as Charley and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater.

Latest Casting Announcements

Recently, several new actors have joined the series in regular roles, including Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suárez.

Confirmed Returning Cast

Several familiar faces from Dexter and Dexter: New Blood have been confirmed to return, including David Zayas as Angel Batista, James Remar as Harry Morgan and Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan

Recent glimpses of Remar and Alcott on set in NYC have fueled excitement, and you can view the latest images here.

Who Else Might Return?

Fans have been speculating about additional returning characters, particularly other members of the Miami Metro team from the original series. One notable absence from official announcements is Julia Jones, whose return has yet to be confirmed.

In a recent interview on Dexter: Final Cut—the official Dexter: Original Sin aftershow hosted by Jamie Chung—C.S. Lee, who portrayed Vince Masuka in all eight seasons of Dexter, was asked about a potential return. His response was coy yet intriguing:

"Are you talking about Masuka-rection?"

He continued, "I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I don’t know. But I would be totally open to it! To be able to play Masuka again on the small screen and act with Michael C. Hall once more would be incredible."

Interestingly, Lee appeared very cautious with his words, despite being on a Showtime-produced show.

A similar situation occurred with James Remar a few weeks prior. When asked about Dexter: Resurrection, he initially avoided confirming anything. However, shortly after, he confirmed his return in a Cameo video for fans, which you can watch here.

Desmond Harrington, who played Joey Quinn, also appeared on Dexter: Final Cut recently. Though he dodged any confirmation, fans noted that he seemed visibly nervous when responding.

A growing fan theory suggests that actors from the original series who have been appearing on Dexter: Final Cut but haven’t been officially announced for Dexter: Resurrection may have already signed on for the new series. Could their appearances on the aftershow be a subtle hint at their involvement?

Only time will tell! Be sure to watch the full episode of Dexter: Final Cut, covering the Dexter: Original Sin Season 1 finale, here. Stay tuned for more updates on Dexter: Resurrection!
