We now know the composer behind the original Dexter: Resurrection soundtrack.
The highly anticipated Dexter: Resurrection, featuring a star-studded cast, has officially reached the halfway mark in production in New York City and is set to premiere this summer.
In an exciting development, Dexter Daily has exclusively learned that composer Pat Irwin—former B-52s member and the mastermind behind the scores of Dexter: New Blood and Dexter: Original Sin—is making his return to the franchise. This marks his third time composing for the Dexter universe, as he takes on the highly anticipated sequel’s soundtrack.
The original Dexter series featured an iconic score composed by Daniel Licht, whose work remains beloved by fans for its haunting and nostalgic melodies. Following Licht’s passing in 2017, Showtime tapped Pat Irwin to compose the music for Dexter: New Blood, a decision that proved to be a perfect fit.
Irwin’s work on Dexter: Original Sin, which premiered in December 2024, was particularly well received, as he masterfully captured the essence of Miami with music inspired by Licht’s original score. His compositions not only paid tribute to the past but also brought a fresh and immersive sound to the prequel.
As the premiere of Dexter: Resurrection approaches, Irwin is back in the studio, crafting a score that will set the tone for the next chapter in the Dexter saga. Fans can expect a gripping and atmospheric soundtrack to accompany this highly anticipated installment.
