"It was amazing to watch him in action," Paddy said about Hall.
A new week of filming for Dexter: Resurrection kicks off tomorrow, with production taking place at iconic landmarks across New York City. Seven weeks into filming, fans have already seen multiple behind-the-scenes images featuring Michael C. Hall, Jack Alcott, James Remar, Uma Thurman, and other cast members in action.
Beyond the stars of the upcoming sequel, the Dexter set has also welcomed familiar faces from the franchise. One notable visitor was Patrick Gibson, who plays a young Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Original Sin. Spotted in NYC during the freezing January weather, Gibson’s presence sparked speculation about his involvement in Dexter: Resurrection.
A week later, Gibson confirmed his visit in a post-finale interview, revealing that he stopped by to see Michael C. Hall and other actors on set. While his trip may have been purely to observe and connect with the cast, it's possible that he was also there to absorb Hall’s portrayal of Dexter—potentially incorporating elements into a second season of Dexter: Original Sin.
Could Gibson have filmed a cameo for Dexter: Resurrection? That remains uncertain. Around the time the Original Sin Season 1 finale aired, he was back in Dublin, Ireland, attending the Irish Film and Television Academy Awards. Whether he’ll return to NYC for another visit—or even a secret role—remains to be seen.
Patrick Gibson on Visiting the Dexter: Resurrection Set
In a recent interview with TVLine, Gibson shared his experience watching Dexter: Resurrection being filmed:
"I actually went to the set in New York recently and just saw them shooting Resurrection, which was pretty cool. I worked hard not to get in the background of a shot. That might confuse viewers a bit. [Laughs] But he’s amazing. It was so cool to watch him work. It was very surreal having forensically watched and studied him and listening to this voice and stuff in the show, to then see him just in between when they call 'cut' and stuff like that. It was really bizarre, like pulling the curtain aside."
Additionally, James Martinez, who plays young Angel Batista in Dexter: Original Sin, was recently invited to the Dexter: Resurrection set by David Zayas. Given that Martinez is a New Yorker, dropping by the filming location would be an easy trip for him.
With production still underway, fans can expect more exciting updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and potential surprises as Dexter: Resurrection continues to take shape. Stay tuned for the latest news from the set!
