Plot Clues in New Dexter: Resurrection Set Photos — What’s Really Going On?

New images from the April 10 filming location may reveal key details about the sequel's plot.

Warning: Potential spoilers ahead!

A brand-new week of filming for Dexter: Resurrection kicks off Monday, marking the 14th consecutive week of production. The week that just wrapped gave fans a lot to talk about—thanks to intriguing new set photos and a highly anticipated on-screen reunion between two key characters.

On Thursday, April 10, a pivotal night scene featuring Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan and Krysten Ritter as Mia was filmed in downtown Manhattan. While we shared a few of those photos in a separate article on Friday, today we bring you brand-new images that offer fresh clues about the developing relationship between Dexter and Mia in Dexter: Resurrection.

What Happened After Dexter: New Blood?

To fully understand what’s going on, let’s go back to the beginning.

The very first scene of the Dexter: Original Sin series premiere (released December 13) finally answered the long-debated question: What happened after the Dexter: New Blood finale? As it turns out, Dexter was rushed to a nearby hospital in Iron Lake after suffering massive blood loss during his near-fatal confrontation with his son, Harrison.

Thanks to the freezing temperatures in the woods, Dexter’s blood loss slowed just enough to give him a second chance at life.

While official information ends there, on-set photos—surfacing consistently since late January—suggest there’s much more to the story. Dexter Morgan is not in police custody for the killing of Officer Logan, and he’s now in New York City—with “Ghost Harry” (his late adoptive father and conscience) by his side once again.

New Dexter: Resurrection Set Photos – What Do They Reveal?

Since Dexter: Resurrection is currently halfway through production and the official plot is still under wraps, the following is purely speculative, based on what we’ve seen in recent set images.

Let’s dive into the new photos from Episode 5:

Are Dexter and Mia Working Together?

From what the images suggest, Dexter and Mia appear to be teaming up on a covert mission of sorts. What’s particularly interesting is that this mission unfolds in the heart of New York City, a place saturated with surveillance cameras—making it an unusual and risky location for Dexter’s usual stealthy operations.

Wardrobe Clues: Dexter’s Cap & Mysterious Backpack

While Mia doesn’t seem to be disguising herself, Dexter is seen wearing a black cap, presumably to avoid being recognized.

Even more intriguing: Dexter is once again carrying a beige backpack—the same one previously spotted in earlier set photos taken in Brooklyn, carried by a different character.

That character (potentially named 'Red') is portrayed by Marc Menchaca, whose role in the series has yet to be officially announced, despite being spotted on set multiple times.

The backpack bears a “Bridge Data Network” logo—belonging to a fictional cybersecurity firm described as “Professional Cybersecurity Secured.” This strongly hints at a connection to billionaire Leon Prater, the tech mogul played by Peter Dinklage.

Introducing UrCar – Dexter’s Version of Uber?

In one of the latest set photos, Michael C. Hall is seen interacting with a driver, next to a vehicle bearing a “UrCar” logo on the windshield. Based on our research, UrCar appears to be a fictional ride-share app, similar to Uber, created specifically for Dexter: Resurrection.

Final Thoughts

As we enter week 14 of Dexter: Resurrection's production, things are heating up fast. These new set photos raise fascinating questions about Dexter’s new life, his partnership with Mia, and how this story connects to the aftermath of the New Blood finale.
